Five Items You Must Own in Cashmere

Cashmere is a wonderful fabric with many great properties. It’s incredibly soft and will keep you warm and cosy whilst also looking great and ensuring you don’t overheat. Certain items of clothing work really well when they’re made from cashmere. We take a look at five items you must own in cashmere and the reasons why they’re so much better when made from cashmere.

Cashmere scarf and gloves

So technically, a scarf and gloves might be two items, but we’re counting them as one as they often go hand in hand on cold winter days. Cashmere is very soft and gentle on your skin, which makes it perfect for materials that touch your skin in sensitive areas. Hands get very cold during the winter, and people often find their hands become sore, dry and cracked in the cold weather. This makes them especially vulnerable to itchy materials such as wool and certain polyesters. Cashmere is the ideal material for sensitive, dry hands because it’s so soft and warm. Cashmere gloves will protect your hands from the cold, but your skin will also be able to breathe. The same holds true for your neck and face. Scarves get wrapped around your neck and face to keep you warm; a cashmere scarf is the best material for sensitive skin; it will always feel great and won’t lead to skin issues such as itching.

Cashmere jumper

Cashmere jumpers are classic; they work with a multitude of different outfits, keeping you warm and looking great. They’re also ideal for layering under a coat or jacket; you won’t need to go a size up when you wear a cashmere jumper layer, as they’re lightweight and not too bulky. Despite being very lightweight, cashmere is still incredibly warm and has the ability to trap heat. Cashmere jumpers are practical and stylish; you can wear them to formal occasions as well as casual events. When you’re heading out to lunch with your friends or a winter get-together where you want to make an impression, a cashmere jumper is an ideal item to wear. You can combine it with a dress, skirt or smart trousers to create a formal but functional look.

Cashmere loungewear

There’s nothing more relaxing than spending time at home on your sofa watching your favourite movies. Loungewear gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic when many people found themselves working from home. Loungewear with cashmere fibres or a hundred percent cashmere loungewear is soft, comfortable and warm. You won’t want to take them off, especially in the winter when your home might become cold. Cashmere also allows air and moisture to escape, so you’re unlikely to get too hot when wearing cashmere loungewear. Cashmere loungewear also makes a perfect gift for friends and family; they will love the soft, smooth feel of the cashmere against their skin.

Cashmere wrap

If you want to stay warm but prefer something more sophisticated, a cashmere wrap is a good alternative to a cashmere jumper. Cashmere wraps look great with evening dresses when you need something to keep your shoulders warm. They’re versatile in how you wear them; if you’re sitting somewhere chilly and your legs get cold, you can place a cashmere wrap over your knees to keep you warm. You can also wear them as a scarf to keep the wind from getting to your face. They’re the perfect item that you’ll wear all year round. Cashmere wraps are even great on those summer evenings when the weather gets a little chilly, and you need something to cover up your arms, shoulders, neck or legs.

Cashmere socks

Cashmere socks are a great option for warming up when your feet get chilly. Place them on with any pair of shoes to keep your feet warm and comfortable. The great thing about cashmere socks is they’re thin enough to be worn with your regular shoes, so your feet won’t feel squished in when you’re trying to keep them warm. Cashmere socks make a great stocking filler gift for yourself or a loved one. They’re a little bit of luxury for your feet that can turn a cold day into something magical and fun.
